Is it always better to be original than to imitate or use the ideas of others?

Originality and individuality go hand in hand with each other when it comes to great ideas and success. I believe people who merely copy others' inventions and work do not produce anything consequential and novel enough for the world. Imitations not only lack in originality and authenticity, but are not salient enough in the sea of simulacrums. I believe that the few who are original are successful.

Steve Jobs was one of the few people with genuine ideas. Jobs proved the world that he was unique by creating the iPhone and iPad: unfortunately many companies copied the idea of making a tablet and smart phone. Jobs was one of the most successful innovators of all time because of his eccentric personality and sense of individuality. Few people were as imaginative and inspiring.

Everyone thinks that all original businessmen are one dimensional, but Will.i.am or William Adams  is one of the few singers who can do more. Adams is one of the most futuristic and imaginative person who has novel ideas. Adam works for Intel as well as leads the Black Eyed Peas. He has helped  design an item that can easily snap to an iPhone to take better pictures; it is called i.am.foto.shoso. He also helped design Ekocycle for Coca-cola. Will.i.am is one of the few artists who can have original music and surreal ideas.

Originality is the key to success when all that exists is similar. New ideas intrigue people more than imitations. Steve Jobs and Will.i.am were creative, imaginative, original, and successful. They are brilliant people that one must emulate by being original. Being unique not only makes one stand out, but it makes a person feel consequential in the world.
