I see black all around me,
Bare trees, black bears, and a black cat.
I see the owls staring,
With their piercing eyes,
As mice scurry across the dirt beneath me.
Fear overwhelms me,
As I watch the darkness surround me.
The nightingale sings a dulcet melody,
Soothing me as I twirl around and around.
What has happened to me?
I ask myself again,
As the darkness tries to swallow me once more.
I have to run away,
Away from this mess.
Then I feel a sudden force of vertigo.
As I stand up off the mud,
I hear someone calling me,
Far, far away,
Her voice echoes through the forest.
I hear footsteps,
And heavy feet crunching the leaves scattered on the floor,
I see my mom standing with warm milk and cookies!
Bare trees, black bears, and a black cat.
I see the owls staring,
With their piercing eyes,
As mice scurry across the dirt beneath me.
Fear overwhelms me,
As I watch the darkness surround me.
The nightingale sings a dulcet melody,
Soothing me as I twirl around and around.
What has happened to me?
I ask myself again,
As the darkness tries to swallow me once more.
I have to run away,
Away from this mess.
Then I feel a sudden force of vertigo.
As I stand up off the mud,
I hear someone calling me,
Far, far away,
Her voice echoes through the forest.
I hear footsteps,
And heavy feet crunching the leaves scattered on the floor,
I see my mom standing with warm milk and cookies!
